Karina Arroyave, Dato Bakhtadze, Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle,
Director: Paul Haggis Genre: Drama

Television writer Paul Haggis turns director with Crash, a film set in Los Angeles and one of the most heavy-handed films of 2005.

In Crash, Paul Haggis deals with the infuriating subject of racial intolerance in modern America. There are twelve major characters in the film that command attention with Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, and Matt Dillon leading the charge.

The story revolves around a Persian store owner, two police detectives, an Afro-American television director and his wife, a Mexican locksmith, two car-jackers, a rookie cop, and a middle-aged Korean couple. They all live in Los Angeles and each one is in some way personally affected, changed or damaged by racism.

A well thought out script along with superior editing keep audiences interested till the end. Crash has a broad appeal and will surely attract audiences from all spheres.

Don Cheadle, a detective who keeps people, including his partner and sometimes lover Esposito, at a distance, leads the list of good performers and has proved that he is here to stay. Leading actress Sandra Bullock plays the role of a lonesome housewife who has been successful in breaking away from her girl next-door image.

Overall, it is a good effort by Haggis and for all movie buffs looking forward to see a hard-hitting drama Crash is the one for you.
