Musicology Album: Musicology
Artist: Prince
Label: Sony Music

The 45-year-old Prince makes a grand return with Musicology, his first release in three years.

The tracks of the album cannot be compared to classics, yet they do take you back to his glorious past.

Prince is serious about the success of this album, at least he tries a little of everything in the album ranging from down and dirty funk jams to slow sensual grooves and even ballads.

Check out for Musicology, Illusion, Pimp & Circumstance, A Million Days, Life O The Party, and Cinnamon Girl the best in the album. Of special interest is the Cinnamon Girl, which revitalizes the grandeur of the pop of the mid-'80s.

On the other hand, rest of the songs-Call My Name, The Marrying Kind, On The Couch, and Reflection fail to match the legend's past hits.

Overall, Musicology may not be something that Prince can be proud of, but it's definitely a strong album-one that impresses on the first hearing and gets better with repeated hearing.
